Kalpana Biswas is an independent documentary filmmaker based in Pittsburgh, Her films focus on the uncommon strength and resilience of women who overcome extreme life OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAchallenges to get back on their feet and make a difference. Her current interests include issues related to war and conflict, especially where they impact women and children. She has also worked as Locations Manager on the feature film “A New York Heartbeat” and Research Coordinator on the documentary about Jonas Salk and polio, “A Shot Felt ’Round the World.” Kalpana is currently Board Chairperson of Women in Film and Media, Pittsburgh, an organization dedicated to the education and support of women in the film and media industries.
